I've been in the kitchen again, but I only thought to take pictures of a few things.

CHICKEN & SAUSAGE GUMBO

OM NOM NOM. This was the result of me wanting something warm and comforting and generally throwing everything we had into one pot. It was so yummy I actually wrote it down. I put tons of okra, because okra is delicious, and I also added a can of black beans. That red sauce left my tongue tingling for a few days in a very good way.

LEMON RICOTTA COOKIES

I made these & the bars to take into school. Honestly, I didn't really think they'd get eaten, because teenagers are so horribly picky, but all five dozen were gone by the end of the day, so they turned out well! These are definitely summer cookies, mostly because of the very tart citrus taste but also because they're a weird cross between chewy and light. Next time, I'd love to make them with lime, which would be even better.

SEVEN LAYER BARS

Special request from L - I don't remember when I first made these for her, but she loved them so much she asked me to make her birthday cake version last year. The fact that she even likes them is shocking, because she is a disgustingly picky eater, but they are admittedly orgasmically good. Simplest things ever to make - graham cracker crust, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, walnuts, coconut, & sweetened condensed milk - and they're at their best frozen.

In other news, I have been completely and utterly broken by the SPN anonymous kink meme over at

blindfold_spn. Not only is everything ridiculously, brain-meltingly hot, but new kinks are being invented. Some of it's just - wow. Um, yeah, GO ~~MELT~~ READ.
