marenziI'm so... ambivalent about NCIS right now. I haven't had a chance to watch any of the new episodes since hiatus until tonight's, so maybe I expected a lot? IDK. But I just feel like they're constantly recycling at this point. A victim hiding something by swallowing it? Done it at least twice before. Jealous boyfriend? Let's not even go there. Yeah, it's their sixth(!) season, and I'm happy that it's run as long as it has. I just don't see anything new.
On the other hand - GIBBS. You will always be my older man (and let's not examine that age gap, shall we?). And Ziva, you have been my kickass girlcrush since S3. Abby just defines cool. And then there's the blatant Gibbs/Dinozzo & Gibbs/Abby & Gibbs/redheads which I adore. Also, Tony becoming McGee's (online) girlfriend?? YES PLEASE. AND ZIVA WOULD TOTALLY WATCH. ♥
Basically, I still freaking love the characters to death; it's just the writing that I'm annoyed with.
OH HEY IT'S SNOWING. Actual snow that's sticking to the ground!! Makes me realize how much I've missed Idaho's blizzards, but whatever, we got a snow day, which was nice. And hopefully we'll have another tomorrow, because I have been horribly irresponsible and haven't done any of my preemptively-assigned snow day homework. :)
I made a stuffed olive-and-garlic rib roast tonight, which was pretty good, but nothing really special. For dessert, though, I made traditional shortcake - the wonderfully lumpy, cakey kind, not that grocery-store fluff - and infused it with orange zest. I topped the cakes with clementine slices & strawberries, then drizzled them with a sweetened-condensed-milk/Grand Marnier/grenadine mixture. OM NOM NOM. This mixture is the best ever. I'll dress up an extra shortcake tomorrow for food porn photos.
