Oh god I love weekend Wednesdays. SO MUCH. The upperclassmen kept telling us how much we would hate winter quarter, but no. We didn't believe them. I am paying for my disbelief now, guys. Although I will really miss this schedule next quarter, when I will have classes from 8:00-11:00 every morning and then three more in the afternoon. Sigh.

I also love book clubbing with the ΔΣΦ boys. (Haha, I was never supposed to be a frat girl! Really. It's just DIFFERENT at Rose, okay?) This started a couple months ago as an excuse to cram a dozen guys in a room so they could all drink together, but then one day I brought an actual BOOK to book club and now they're all reading too. I am highly amused at this "liberal arts bullshit", as they like to call it, because everyone here's an engineer and came here to get away from the humanities. I AM SUCH A BAD INFLUENCE.

ANYWAY, that tangent was to say that I spent an extremely reasonable $1 and ordered the complete Chronicles of Narnia, which I haven't read since first grade and really want to reread now that I'll actually understand all of the allegories. I am impatiently checking the tracking page like every five minutes. It's not like I really ever have time to read it, but book club is usually around 2-5 in the morning, so. Lewis on drunken sleep deprivation is going to be fantastic, I am sure.

(Also, there's supposed to be this show on tomorrow night? IDK, I'M KIND OF SPAZZING OUT ABOUT IT. ♥)

Oh, Narnia! ♥ You will love them as an adult, seriously. And I am way amused by your reading frat boys, heee. You are a GOOD influence! :D

GUH, ME TOO. I have to wait for episodes now. This is strange.

These boys are just - you would have to love them, they are awesome people. Frats at Rose are so different than anything I've seen anywhere else and it's awesome. I feel so proud whenever one of them says "Wait, it's only 4:30, I don't have class until 8:00, I can read another chapter!"

NARNIA YAY! I remember loving them SO MUCH as a kid (although my favorite was by far The Horse And His Boy, which I think no one else really liked? IDK) and I cannot wait for this epic 800-page monstrosity to get here!

Waiting suuuuucks. And fandom kind of alternates between weeks of prolific fic and hibernation, which is weird. (I totally get staying out of SPN fandom, though - the batshit-crazy reputation is kind of true, overall. I just quietly stay in my little corner with a few other sane people, and it's awesome there, but we are sometimes invaded.)

Awwww! That is so awesome!! :D I AM SORRY, BUT BOYS WHO READ ARE THE BEST KIND OF BOYS. Maybe especially when you don't expect them to be that type.

I loved that one, too!!! But I never read them when I was little; I didn't read them until the first movie came out (I know, shame on me). But I really loved that one, a lot. And it is a fast read, so you will be able to tear through it! :D

::laughs:: Well, I guess all fandoms have their batshit crazy moments? Comics fandom seems to have a lot of RAAAAAAAGE and people getting VERY ANGRY over things that happen, but I am loving things lately, so I stay in my own little happy bubble in the corner. ;) This seems to be the safest move. Wallflowers unite!

Ugh YES THEY ARE. LOOOVE.

Haha, really? I don't know, I always thought you'd read them before that! But I have a feeling that I'm going to end up being stupid an pulling several all-nighter book clubs for this... I love Lewis.

It is just - the Samgirls and the Deangirls and the con marriage proposals are CRAZY. Like. I really, really love these characters! And the actors! But at the same time, I do have a fairly strong grasp on reality. Being a wallflower works for me!

I know! It is totally something I should have read. :\ I have no excuses. Buuut I love them now? :D

Oh man, fangirls terrify me in ANY fandom! I mean, yes, sometimes I fangirl, but I do it quietly inside my head and am way too shy to actually flail if I ever had a chance to.

Better late than never! :D

THIS IS TRUE. Although after I got into SPN fandom, I actually went to a couple of the informal meetups in DC - just seeing movies, getting coffee, whatever - and they were pretty much the best things EVER. And it was with these fangirls who I already fangirled for their amazing writing/talent/general awesomeness. It's a bit of a rush to sit in Hooters (Starbucks was closed) and discuss all of the crazy taboo stuff that you otherwise only muddle around in online.

Hee! Okay, yes, THAT is awesome. I would LOVE to go to a con sometime--actually, this April I'm going to Boston's comic con and JIM LEE will be there. He is only the best artist EVER. The tricky part will be having enough nerve to go get a signature or say hello and not let my best friend wimp out on me. ;) But YES, that is FUN. This fall was the first time I met someone in person that I knew online, and we had tons of fun and spent like hours in a comic book store being total geeks.

It was actually Le Petit Prince by Saint-Exupery - I feel like I've completely forgotten all my French, so I was rereading it to sort of brush up. So they made fun of me for being a pretentious girl, and then one of them said, "Oh wait, I actually have this really good book -" And so it began. :)
