Aug. 29th, 2008 10:07 pmSurvived the first week - how bad is it that I've already counted how long until graduation? But I'm relatively happy with most of my classes & teachers (at least all the APs, which are the only ones which really matter) and I'm able to live with the rest of them. I already know that AP Bio will kick my ass repeatedly and without mercy, as we have a 25-page report due Tuesday. My AP English teacher, though? Amazing, sarcastic & snarky & not letting us pull any bullshit. She's the wife of my AP Physics teacher from last year -
Oh god Krug. Let me just say that I love this man beyond all belief. He's been my softball coach since freshman year, but his class last year honestly impacted my life in so many ways. It completely solidified that yes, this is what I want to do with the rest of my life - math and science and engineering. He didn't let me freak out when I failed his tests or had no idea what was going on, just told me that he knew I'd work it out. As a coach, as a teacher - greatest man I've ever met.
And I was supposed to have him again this year for BC Calc. I'd have had both Krugs, which would probably have made my year. But I'll make do with softball.
Anyway, went out for coffee after school before work, which was nice - missed the gym, but I hadn't expected to have time tonight anyway since I took a long shift. It was nice to sit down after the week & talk to some people I haven't seen lately, and we had gorgeous weather today - slightly rainy, constant breeze, nice and cool.
It probably didn't hurt that my doubleshot on ice was one of the best I've ever had and that you could smell the caffeine - I'm still buzzed. :)
